American Durafilm Co., Inc., the oldest fabricator of Teflon® FEP films, now shows that it continues to lead the industry by offering bags with only one seal at the bottom. Less seals means less chance to fail, more volume capacity, “cleaner” look and less fabrication (cost or value added) to make a finished product. Bags made of seamless extruded tubing means they are cleaner as there is no sheeting, folding or “matched rolls” of film being used to make the bags (matched rolls of film can also lead to material traceability problems).

As the only stocking distributor of high quality Saint-Gobain Extruded FEP layflat we can offer fast delivery and excellent service.  Our standard widths in stock are 1.2”, 3.5”, and 5.5” wide.  We have these in 500ft rolls which are ready to ship or to make custom length bags per request.

Norgard® PFA fluoropolymer film is manufactured by Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics from perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) resin. This film offers the highest continuous use temperature 260°C (500°F) of any melt-processable fluoropolymer film.

Norgard® PFA film offers many of the performance properties of PTFE in a clear, transparent form, and can be:

  • Heat sealed
  • Thermoformed
  • Welded
  • Metalized
  • Laminated to a wide variety of materials

Norgard® PFA PG film offers a combination of characteristics:

  • Excellent dielectric properties across a wide temperature and frequency range
  • Highest level of chemical and stress crack resistance
  • Provides excellent tank-lining performance
  • Excellent clarity and weatherability

Norgard® PFA WG is an ideal economical solution for applications that don’t require high aesthetic standards, such as hot melt adhesive (welding tape) application. PFA WG grade possesses all physical, mechanical, and thermal properties of PFA film, while offering up to 25% savings.

Norgard® FEP fluoropolymer film is manufactured by Saint Gobain Performance Plastics from fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) resin.

FEP also provides the chemical and thermal resistance to withstand aggressive environments, making it an excellent candidate for diaphragms, gaskets, protective linings, sample bags, and containers. Fabricated shapes and contours can be produced via heat sealing and thermoforming. The outstanding weatherability and optical properties of FEP film provide excellent performance in environmental growth chambers and solar collectors.

Norgard® FEP Type FG

This film grade utilizes the low dielectric constant and dissipation over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies for low-signal distortion and attenuation in flexible printed circuit and flat cable applications. The high surface and volume resistivity minimizes current leakage and provides excellent insulation in wire and cable applications.

Norgard® FEP Type FS

FS grade film is a translucent film made from high molecular weight resin for applications where high flex life, stress-crack-resistant, and heat seal performance are required. These applications include items such as tank linings and diaphragms.

Norgard® FEP Type WF

Type WF (mechanical grade) film is an ideal economical solution for applications that don’t require high aesthetic standards, such as hot melt adhesive (welding tape) application. FEP WF film possesses all physical, mechanical, and thermal properties of FEP FG grade, while offering up to 15% savings.

]]>
Norgard® ETFE fluoropolymer film is manufactured by Saint Gobain Performance Plastics from a copolymer of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene resin. This material offers the outstanding performance of fluoropolymer film over a temperature range from cryogenic to 165°C (330°F). The resistance to chemicals and weathering, low flammability, and stress-crack resistance make this film an excellent candidate for a wide variety of applications.

Weatherable Applications

Saint-Gobain’s ETFE E2 film offers excellent mechanical properties and tear resistance. The high light transmission (> 95%) of ETFE film, when combined with its excellent mechanical and chemical properties, provides excellent performance in architectural roofing designs and greenhouses. ETFE film is also an excellent choice in solar collector applications due to its outstanding physical properties and high coverage factor resulting from its low density.

Low Surface-Energy Applications

Saint-Gobain’s ETFE film offers a low surface energy, making it an excellent choice for release applications up to 350°F process temperature. The low density of this material, compared to FEP and PFA films, provides greater coverage per pound for composite molding release film applications. The low surface energy of ETFE can also be utilized in applications such as wall coverings and anti-graffiti protection for high traffic areas.

Fabrication Capabilities

ETFE film offers processors excellent dimensional stability for secondary processing such as thermoforming and welding. Products utilizing Saint-Gobain’s surface treatment technologies, such as C-treatment, improve bondability characteristics for metalizing processes and adhesive coating.
